SONASEARCH has developed a
micro-miniaturized version of their EHRS capable of fitting inside
pressure housings as small as 10mm diameter. The Sonasearch EHRS
incorporates a portable IMU with serial data outputs for roll, pitch,
yaw, and magnetic heading data using state-of-the-art MEMS gyros in
conjunction with solid-state magnetometers. The MEMS gyros utilize a
highly stable concentric ring topology, which is more stable and
accurate than the conventional “tuning fork” topologies used in lower
cost MEMS-based products.
The SONASEARCH
EHRS is fully calibrated and operational less than 50 seconds after
power-up. No further calibration is required under typical operational
conditions. Within 50 seconds of power application, the EHRS will begin
sending valid data from the data port. Data is output as TTL-level ASCII
data. The EHRS is powered by an external supply of 6.5-24 VDC. The
accuracy of the unit will be a function of the amount of vibration and
dynamic motion of the system. The EHRSS is designed to have a typical
accuracy of plus/minus 1 degree in a static environment.
